UnderTough
Specialized Fiber Coating for Wooden Base Materials
For softwood materials like cedar, the pencil hardness under
JIS strength tests typically measures below 6B, and even after
urethane coating, remains below 4B. However, applying UnderTough
transforms the hardness to an impressive 3H. This specialized
fiber-layered coating enhances the surface strength of materials
like paulownia and balsa wood to match that of hardwoods.
In practical applications, diving pencils made from paulownia
coated with UnderTough have successfully withstood the stress
of reeling in blackfin tuna weighing over 150 kg, with no damage.
Key Advantages
・Significant Reduction in Mid-Coating and Top-Coating
Clear Layers: Streamlines the production process.
・High Cost-Performance: A 2 kg set can coat approximately
300 wood plugs (200 mm each),
